Cavalry units require special consideration. We have an area enclosed by fence for you, complete with a building. The paddock is limited in size, so there is a restriction on the number of horses we can accommodate. It is up to 6 per camp, at this time.
Camp followers will find a home too! Both the British and American's will have a "Matron" to help the women and children fit into the event.
Whoever you are, if you are a re-enactor who fits into War of 1812 or Napoleonic Era, then you will certainly enjoy our event!
F&I and Rev War re-enactors are welcome to attend. (You may be asked, however, to wear small clothes, and take the field as militia.) Militia will be expected to drill. Remember, the NWC Militia and the Corps of Canadian Voyageurs underwent training in Montreal for 6 months, over the winter of 1812-13.
All re-enactors attending will be required to register and sign a waiver. Click here to view a copy of the "Hold Harmless Agreement" used by the CCV. Click here to view a copy of the current safety regulations for re-enactors involved in the event.
Because of safety regulations, only site artillery will be used in actual battle. Re-Enactment artillery units must make prior arrangement to attend. This includes providing proof of attendance to a recognized "School of Artillery," for safety purposes.
You are welcome to bring it, but we will not allow you to use your artillery piece, if you just "Show Up!" If you plan to bring a gun, we must be sure it and your crew meet site safety standards.
Sorry, but no ACW or percussion cap weapons are permitted. Only flintlock long arms will be allowed.
